About Blog development: Thanks for your comment, Scrap Art Studio! My blogger template was set up for 2 columns. I wanted to add a third- I found instructions somewhere on this site- http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/2007/03/background-image-for-blogger-template.html
There are all kinds of helpful tips and hints with exact instructions for changing the template you've chosen.
My header is 400 pixels high and 800px wide. To add your header, go to LAYOUT, PAGE Elements, and then EDIT on page element you want to change. (The popup window will say "configure header).Then you browse your computer for you header file and add it.

More about blog templates- when you go to the website I listed, you can use the Search box to look for specific tips that you want to know about. For example- If you want a 3 column page, type in 3 column page and you will come up with a tutorial for that subject.
